Future Foam
Ranked 154th on the Fortune 500, global automotive supplier Lear Corporation joins forces with experimental design collective Thing Thing to develop furniture pieces using scrap material from Lear’s foam plant.
A collaboration between micro and macro design industry leaders, these versatile furniture pieces use foam and other raw materials to reimagine the possibilities of post-consumer waste through the use of re-engineered industrial machines. Destined for Lear's downtown Detroit Innovation Center, the pieces reflect Lear's commitment to experimentation and collaboration with Detroit's burgeoning independent creative community and the opportunity to leverage design to provide new product solutions from waste materials.
